And in the same weekend I finished the first Anime Iowa Submission, I also finished this one. Seemingly running in overdrive off of some art-high or something. Well, here it is! I submitted this as my second (and last) entry to the Anime Iowa Mascot contest. Oh, and here's the description I gave for it:

Name: CSSM (Convention Security Staff Mecha. CSSM is pronounced as "See-sem" by Convention Staff)

Background: In the not-so-distant futurre, AnimeIowa Staff has much more to worry about than just your average cosplayer. To deal with any quarrels or adversity, the Convention Staff has employed the CSSM. Only one is ever needed.

Nicely executed! Very clean and superb colouring job you've done here ^^. I don't know much about mecha thing so can't really comment much about the design and all =(
The blue lights gives a really good ambient as well for the mech instead of using one single light source. :thumbsup:

Just a small suggestion perhaps is to make some of the lights (like the eyes, the green bulbs? XD around the shoulder part, the pink beam) look more glowy. Perhaps that's just my personal preference tho, I like glowing thing XD.

DUDE!! your mech works insane *drools* the coloring on the armor is fantastic. :XD: i would say mechas are definetly you speciality.

You can comment even if you're not much of a mech-oriented person. Those comments are valid too. :)

Heh, I really had to restrain myself from pushing things -too- glowy, as I felt they would overwhelm the picture (as its already pretty flashy). I also wonder if the stark white background is detracting from the glowy stuff too (but I had to submit these without backgrounds). I'll keep it in mind for the future though, or if I ever decide to redo this particular piece. Thanks! :D
