I did the line art for this as part of a commission for Studio Antithesis' "Get Lea Hernandez to Anime Iowa" fundraiser. I then opted to color this picture for the heck of it.
Character - 'Dizzy' from Guilty Gear, combined with elements of 'Justice', from the same series. Was instructed pretty heavily in this piece, from positioning, composition, etc. My job was basically getting creative with the character designs. Hope you enjoy, and thanks for looking!
Spooky. Very intersting character indeed. Clever representation of two sides of human consciousness. Not sure about the sword thing tho but that's just personal preference, hehe. Still, it's a well thought character.
Love the coloring by the way! People normally tend to overshade when coloring metal but you have a good control on making the color just feel right. It really blends well with the skin. Good work ^^!
Oooo One of my favorite pictures of yours. I actually can't find a favorite part of this piece, because I like so many aspects. The coloring ofcoarse, but then the Gear symbols on the wings are such a nice touch, Plus the way she seems squeezed into her costumes. Just such a great Lor effect. It gives her texture with simply the lineart. Oh, and I absolutely love the design of her hands. The person who commissioned this could not have asked for a better person to design this mingling of characters. ^__^
Heh, I dunno why we all like anime girls either. Though they sure do sell. Anyone find it interesting that sales of my 'cheesecake'-esque pictures are sold primarly to female buyers? I assumed it'd be the opposite.
wow great character design. i'm really liking the wings and her facial expression. the coloring job is fantastic. do you know if guilty gear is a good game?? whats that thing she's holding onto?? it looks naughty XD!
Wow, I remember seeing the lineart a while back, but the coloring really helps define it! The atmosphere really grabs me. I love the lighting. Did you do this in Painter?
Haha, the naughty piece is a part of the costume. Lets just call it a cod-piece or something. Its from Justice's design.
Oh, and as far as I'm concerned, there are no other 2d fighters past Guilty Gear. That is, if you have the time or patience to learn it. Go with "#Reload" version. Its available for PC now.
